Joyce E. (Reichardt) Wenzel

Joyce E. Wenzel was born into eternal life on November 16 at the age of 96.  Joyce is reunited with her husband Vernon in God’s loving presence.  Their love, trust and faith in each other during their 70 years of marriage, was an inspiration to everyone who knew them.  Joyce dedicated her life to loving her husband and raising her four children.  She was born April 20th, 1928 in Brillion, WI.  After marrying Vernon, they moved to Appleton in 1947 where they settled to raise their family.  Joyce enjoyed people and therefore enjoyed a variety of jobs over her life time from waitressing to secretarial work all the while keeping her house in impeccable shape at all times.  She was known for her love of knitting having created well over 100 afghans, each with over one-half million stitches.  Each stitch a stitch of Love as she would always say. 

She will be lovingly missed by her three children; Doreen Bailey of Oconto Falls, Deborah Dorow of Appleton, and Dennis (Debbie) Wenzel of Delafield, WI.  Grandmother to ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.  Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Wenzel, son Douglas Wenzel, father Harold Reichardt, mother Lucille (Huebner) Reichardt, sister Patty Lou Tuschel, brother Gerald Reichardt, brother Harold (Casey) Reichardt, and granddaughter Jennifer Wenzel. 

The funeral service for Joyce will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 740 E. College Ave., Appleton with Rev. Ben Morris officiating.  A time of visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.  Her final resting place will be at Highland Memorial Park Mausoleum.  For online condolences please visit www.valleyfh.com.

Goodbye is not forever, goodbye is not the end it simply means I’ll miss you all until we meet again.  A Christian does not consider death to be the end of his life, but the end of his troubles…..Rest in Peace !!
