Joyce Elizabeth “Hazel” Stengel, of Hilbert, WI passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 2, 2025

Joyce lived to the blessed age of 90 years, born November 17, 1934.

Preceded in death by her husband Clarence “Casey” Stengel, Mother Emma (Kunke) Lindemann, Brother Harry “Bud” and Wife Dorthy Anderson, Sister Donna (Ralf) Marx, Sister-in-law Maryann (Gerald) Rink, Genevieve (Merlin) Schulz, Margarett (Dollie) Schadrie, Eleanore Kavanaugh, Brothers-in-law: Andrew (Marge) Kavanaugh, Sylvester (Mildred) Stengel; oldest son Gary Milbach, Son-in-law Thomas Ott

Survived by Brother William (Joyce) Anderson, William Lindemann, Sister Patricia (Lee) Fails;

Children: Mark Stengel, David (Kyong) Milbach, Linda Ott.

Grandchildren: Joseph Ott, Holly (Ryan) Wendt, Shawn (Mary) Ott, Spencer (Katie) Milbach, Kasey (Erik) Rieter; Great Grandchildren: Helena Ott, Dominick Wendt, Noah Wendt, Maddie Milbach, Alfred Milbach, with many other nieces and nephews.  

Joyce and Casey Stengel, her late husband, owned and operated Stengel’s Sav-Mor grocery store 1950-1986 in the Village of Hilbert, Wisconsin until the death of her husband. Joyce was the head baker and decorator at the store. She will be dearly missed by friends and family.

A Funeral Service for Joyce will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. at Valley Funeral Home (2211 N. Richmond St., Appleton) with David Milbach officiating.  Friends and family will gather at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service.  Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
