Joyce Johnson, 79, a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and beloved member of the Fox Valley community, peacefully passed away on January 29, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 2, 1946, in Clinton, Iowa, Joyce lived a life rooted deeply in faith, grace, and service to others.
A woman of unwavering belief, Joyce’s faith guided every aspect of her life. She was a mother of three and a grandmother of four, and she instilled her strong values, compassion, and religious devotion in her family through both word and example. Joyce was known for her generous spirit and tireless commitment to helping those in need. She devoted her time volunteering with local food banks and Meals on Wheels programs, always eager to lend a helping hand and ensure no one went without.
Joyce was a source of prayer, comfort, and encouragement—not only to her children and grandchildren, but to countless members of the community. Her outgoing nature, warm smile, and genuine care for others made her a steady presence of hope and kindness wherever she went. She lived her faith openly, spreading grace through her actions and support of others.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Stanley Johnson; their children, Steven, Erin, and Debra; her daughter-in-law, Kelly Johnson, and son-in-law, Brian McNamara; her grandchildren, Liam, Eli, Elizabeth, and Ethan; and her extended family.
A Family and Friends Viewing will be held at the Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St., Appleton, WI, on February 18, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A final viewing will take place on February 19, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a celebration of Joyce’s life and faith at 11:00 a.m. at Christus Lutheran Church, N1915 Julius Dr., Greenville, Wisconsin.
