Joyce DeCorte Buenger

Joyce DeCorte Buenger, age 92 of Appleton, Wisconsin, formerly of Overland Park, Kansas passed away peacefully on May 19, 2023. She was born on August, 27, 1930 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Angelo and Petrina (Trupiano) DeCorte. Joyce graduated from the University of Houston, where she met James E. Buenger. On January 28, 1953 they were married; James preceded her in death in January 1993. Joyce was an avid sports enthusiast, enjoyed playing Bridge as well as other card games with friends. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was also a devout Catholic and was a faithful servant to the church over the years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.

She is survived by her daughters; Susan Buenger Brown, Stephanie Buenger, Sharon Buenger-Cowles and Stacey (John) Buenger Raber, ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Joyce is further survived by her sister in law, Elaine Buenger, other relatives and many dear friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, James and son in law, James Cowles.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date in Overland Park, Ks.
