Joseph Schroetter, age 63, passed away unexpectedly, at his home, on Wednesday, December 26, 2018. He was born on November 30, 1955 in Appleton, WI. to Karl and Maria (Herz) Schroetter. Joe married the love of his life, Carol Jean Gill on September 18, 1976.

Joe graduated from Appleton West High School in 1974. He was employed in paper manufacturing for many years prior to opening his Safe Ship retail outlet store. Joe enjoyed spending time in the Wisconsin Northwoods, and was an avid Packer fan.

Joe and Carol are the parents of Jennifer Leigh Schroetter Jochman and Jeremy Lane Schroetter. A son, Kristoffer Michael, passed away at birth.

In addition to his wife and children, Joe is survived by his mother, his siblings, Ann (Tom) Crooks, Helmut Schroetter, Angela (William) Recker and Sue (Tom) Schinke. He is also survived by his granddaughter Tarsa Cummings, step-grandsons Jacob and Joshua Jochman and Charles Jochman, great granddaughter Alexis Kluck, and many nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his son and father, Joe is preceded in death by his grandmother, Anna (Oma) Herz, uncle Joe Herz, and aunt Anna Drescher.

A celebration of Joe’s life will be held on Sunday January 6, 2019 at 11:00AM at the Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St. Appleton, WI 54911. Visitations will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00PM and on Sunday, January 6th from 10:00AM until the time of service. Interment will occur at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established. Joe was a gentle soul and will be dearly missed. Rest in Peace and God Bless!
