Joseph P. Kelly

Joseph P. Kelly, age 77, of Appleton fell asleep at St. Elizabeth Hospital and woke up in the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.  He was born on July 5, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Vineland, New Jersey, son of the late Brendan and Anna (Sullivan) Kelly.  On October 3, 1970 he married Lois Werner.  Their marriage was blessed with 5 children and 54 years.  He worked most of his life selling auto parts, and retired from shipping and packing in 2019.  Joseph loved the Lord with all his heart and was a faithful servant leader. He was a member of Valley Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School for over 25 years. He loved his family and enjoyed fishing, playing guitar, and reading. He was a very patriotic man.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lois; his children: Daniel Kelly, Appleton, Joseph (Karridi) Kelly, Appleton, Tabitha Jones, Milwaukee, Hope (Jim) Smock, Appleton, Deborah (Joe) Lennon, Appleton; grandchildren: Joseph Jr., Lily, Penelope, Lucy, Peter, Zeruiah, Rebecca, Sarah (Nick), Isaac, Aubrie, Alec, Emily, Anna, Elijah, Samantha, Alyssa, Stephen, David; great-grandchildren: Patrick, Alayna; God Daughters: Danielle Pawlowski, Robin Moore; siblings: Mary Weaver, Anthony Kelly, Gus Kelly, Anne (Frank) Capoferri, Brendan (Daisy) Kelly, Michael (Tammy) Kelly, Dolly Hastings; sister-in-law, Naomi Groat.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, James Jones; siblings-in-law: Susan Werner, Kenneth Weaver, Lance Hastings, Bill Pardee, John Groat.

The Funeral Service for Joseph will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Valley Baptist Church (3600 N. Chippewa Street, Appleton) with Rev. Larry Creamer officiating.  Friends will be received at the church on Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service.
