Joseph Arnoldussen, age 84 of Kaukauna, passed peacefully on Thursday, August 3, 2023. He was born on March 20, 1939 to the late Edward and Lucy (Bowers) Arnoldussen in Kaukauna. Joe graduated from Kaukauna High School and then enlisted in the United States Army. He worked at Piggly Wiggly during high school, and again later in his life until retirement, holding various positions. He married “his Angel” Catherine Ann Clements on August 10, 1972. She preceded him in death on September 25, 1994. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and together with Cathy, were deeply involved with the church and local community. His faith was very important to him. He enjoyed calling Bingo as an activities coordinator at Golden Ventures retirement home where he was living. Joe knew everyone in Kaukauna; he couldn’t go out in public without running into someone to share an old memory with. He was a very giving and kind person, always finding a way to serve others by donating his time. Joe will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his children; Tammie Kruse (Ron), Dean Arnoldussen, Shelly La Violette (Gary) and Robin (Stacy) Arnoldussen, Keith (Stephanie) Kroll, Sean (Susan) Arnoldussen and Brian (Yvette Krause) Arnoldussen, grandchildren; Bradley, Austin, Jennifer (Heartbeat), Geoffrey (Stacey), Justin, Matthew (Brooke), Samuel, Seth, April, Sylvia, Carol Ann, and Tina. There are also numerous great grandchildren. Joe is further survived by his sisters; Phyllis Van Deraa and Sister Mary Arnoldussen, his brother, Ervin Arnoldussen as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents Edward and Lucy, his wife, Catherine and his siblings; John, Gladys, Bernice, Gerald, Clayton, Genevieve, Theresa, Eunice, and Dale.
Family and friends may gather at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St. Appleton on Thursday, August 10, 2023 from 3:00pm until the time of service at 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers and other expressions of sympathy, memorial donations in Joseph’s honor can be made to Shiloh Assisted Living for their community programs.
