John Mark Lecker, 65, entered eternal life with his Savior Jesus on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Ascension - St. Elizabeth with his family at his side. He was born on March 15, 1958 in Appleton, WI, son of the late Earl and Olive Lecker. The Holy Spirit brought John into the family of believers through the washing of rebirth in Holy Baptism at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Appleton. John confessed his faith in our Lord Jesus publicly at his confirmation, also at St. Paul Lutheran Church. John married Cynthia Fischer on June 20, 1981. John worked his entire career in the landscape industry, most recently for Landscape Associates in De Pere, WI for 14 years. He served faithfully on various boards at Immanuel Lutheran Church and School and volunteered his skill and love of landscaping at Mt. Olive, Fox Valley Lutheran High School and innumerable friends and family over the years.
John leaves the following to the hope of a blessed reunion in heaven granted through the resurrection of Jesus Christ: his wife of 42 years, Cynthia, and children: Michelle (Paul) Micheel, Grant Park, Illinois; Jeremy (Stephanie) Lecker, Maple Grove, Minnesota; 7 grandchildren, Silas, Loukas, Autumn, and Linus Micheel and Elijah, Ian and Simon Lecker, also his brothers and sisters: Diane (Douglas) Enter, Appleton; Susan (John) Gossens, Little Chute; William (Kris) Lecker, Appleton; Patricia Hoogervorst, Neenah; Steven (Amy) Lecker, Greenville; David (Penny) Lecker, Fond du Lac; Joanne (Kevin) Hietpas, Fairfield, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Olive Lecker and his sister, Barbara.
John’s life will be celebrated with a Christian service at 11:00a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Mount Olive Ev. Lutheran Church, Appleton with Reverend Timothy Priewe officiating. Friends may visit the family at the church from 9:00 a.m. on Saturday until the time of service. The committal will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established at Mount Olive.
