Joan B. Thomack

Joan B. Thomack, age 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. She was born on January 4, 1932 in Appleton, daughter of the late Edward and Harriet (Hebler) Bartman. Joan was united in marriage to William “Bill” Thomack on August 1, 1950 in Appleton. Their marriage was blessed with five children. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, and cooking. Joan was a gentle and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, with the Lord being her first love. 

Joan is survived by her children: Mary Lou (Howard) Marx, Russ Thomack, Dan (Rachel) Thomack, Geralyn (Bruce) Baseman, and Kathy (Dean) Ramsden; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Peter (Sharon) Bartman and Joe Bartman; and one sister-in-law, Marilyn Feldman. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Joan was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Davy Marx; and two sisters: Carol (Bob) Maloney and Peggy Bartman. 

A Funeral Service for Joan will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond Street. Family and friends may visit the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Joan will be laid to rest in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
