Joan Schultz Obituary

Joan Mary (Wisneski) Schultz, 90, of Appleton passed away peacefully Friday morning, June 4 at Dimensions Living in Appleton. She was born January 19, 1931, to Joseph and Florence Wisneski. On October 27, 1948, she married John T. Schultz, and they shared a wonderful 67 years together until his death in 2015.

Joan and John raised their family of four children in Appleton, and Joan spent many years working at Sherwin Williams as a successful and sought-after interior design consultant. She was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in her early 60’s, but she didn’t let it stop her from doing the things she enjoyed, like painting, sewing, traveling, and going shopping in search of good deals at her favorite store, “TJ’s” (TJ Maxx).  She was also a master bridge player; her bridge friends called her the “Polish Princess”, PP for short.

She and John enjoyed traveling, and in their later years especially enjoyed an annual trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Back home, they tried not to ever miss Friday Night Fish Fry for perch, oftentimes at the American Legion.

She is survived by her two sons Michael (Julie) Schultz and Mark Schultz; grandchildren, Molly, Jeffrey, Lindsey, Whitney, Courtney, Adam, Sam and Brad; and several great-grandchildren. Joan is further survived by her sons-in-law, Matt Rossmeissl and Winston Borkowski; brother Thomas Wisneski and brother-in-law Daniel Schultz, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband John Schultz; her daughters Cathy Rossmeissl and Barbara Borkowski; granddaughters Sarah and Christie, sister Patricia Stelow, brother Robert Wisneski, and brother-in-law Thomas (Red) Schultz.

At Joan's request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. If you so desire, please have a vodka (NOT gin!) and tonic in her honor.
