Joan C. Driessen, 74, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2026.
Joan was born on October 5, 1951, to Elmer and Viola (Dohr) Zastrow. On October 2, 1970, she married her high school sweetheart, Steven Driessen. Together, they shared nearly 56 years of marriage and a life filled with love, faith, family, and cherished memories.
Joan devoted much of her life to supporting Steven in his ministry, assisting with teaching and counseling. Together, they enjoyed traveling and took many motorcycle trips throughout the country. In more recent years, they enjoyed camping, especially in Door County.
Joan found joy in the simple things in life. She loved gardening, reading, and going for walks. Above all, she treasured her family. Her children and grandchildren were the greatest joy in her life, and she cherished every moment and memory made with them. Her love, kindness, and caring spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
Joan is survived by her loving husband, Steven; her children, Kari Driessen, Matthew (Jaclyn) Driessen, and Erick (Mary Jo) Driessen; her grandchildren, Kyle, Cody, Kourtney, Austin, Madison, Lydia, Leia, Brooklyn, Micha, and Ella; her great-granddaughter, Londyn; her sister, Virginia “Ginny” Weyers; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Viola Zastrow, and her sisters, Mary and Janet.
Joan will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd, at 1:00 p.m. at Breakthrough Covenant Church, 215 East Washington St. Appleton, Wisconsin
