Jerome (Jerry) Krupka, age 80, of Appleton, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 14, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center after a long battle with cancer and complications due to diabetes. Jerry was born in Milwaukee on July 6, 1944, to the late George and Elizabeth Krupka. He graduated from Xavier High School in 1962.
He was an avid NASCAR fan and would talk for hours to anyone who would listen. He spent many hours at WIR racetrack with his brothers and son. He was fondly known as “Mr. Fix-It”; anytime something was broken or not working correctly, the first person everyone turned to was Jerry. He was a kind, patient and gentle man who was always there for his family and friends.
Jerry will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Peg (Kloes), and children Kris (Mike) Sherry and Greg (Rebecca) Krupka; grandchildren Jacob (Samantha) Sherry, Jordan (Rachel) Sherry, Joey (Kaitlin) Sherry, Jenna (fiance Alex Moz) Sherry, Luke Krupka and Claire Krupka; great grandchildren Mattingly and Montgomery Sherry; brothers Frank (Bonnie) Krupka and Jim (Kay) Krupka; sisters Virginia (Larry) Miller, Marie (Dave) Draper and Carol Mitchell; brother-in-law Paul Berggren; sisters-in-law Bonnie Krupka and Barbara Krupka; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Elizabeth Krupka; parents-in-law Roland and Jane Kloes; brothers Joseph Krupka, Dennis Krupka, Norbert Krupka, John Krupka and George Krupka; brothers-in-law Bill Zanzig and Bob Mitchell; and sisters-in-law Patricia Zanzig, Judy Berggren, Jean Krupka and Mary Ann Krupka.
The family would like to thank the ICU team at ThedaCare Neenah for their wonderful care and support.
