Jeanette Braasch, age 94, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Heartwood Homes in Appleton. She was born on November 18, 1931 in Waukegan, IL to the late Andrew and Sylvia (Hintsa) Kosir. Jeannette was united in marriage on April 25, 1953 to the late Milton Braasch until his passing in 2016.
Jeanette’s favorite place on earth was the lake house on Legend Lake. It was there that her family gathered, year after year, generation after generation. She could often be found on the chair swing, gently swaying while keeping watch over the grandchildren racing toward the water, or out on the boat, wind in her hair and contentment written across her face. The lake wasn’t just a destination; it was her happy place, the backdrop to countless stories and traditions that will live on.
She enjoyed golfing in her younger years, enjoying the challenge and camaraderie of the course. Ever practical and hardworking, she was also a steadfast partner to her husband, lending a steady hand and sharp mind to his many side businesses. Together they built more than ventures; they built a life grounded in teamwork and mutual respect.
Family vacations were a treasured tradition, especially trips to Rhinelander lake resorts. Those summers were filled with laughter and core memories. Her commitment extended beyond her household. As a church treasurer at First Christian Church in Pekin, IL, she served faithfully and responsibly, ensuring that the needs of her congregation were met with integrity and care.
Above all, she cherished time with her family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life, and she delighted in watching them grow, always ready with encouragement, wisdom, or simply a listening ear.
Jeanette is survived by her children: Kurt (Kimberly) Braasch, Diane (Eric) Beisel, Craig (Christine) Braasch; grandchildren: Erich Braasch, Kevin Braasch, Kimberly Stapleton, Nicole Immel, Tyler Wirth, Maxwell Braasch, Emma Madison, Milton Braasch; great grandchildren: Kayleigh Braasch, Emily Braasch, Jason Braasch, Kyler Braasch, Henley Stapleton, Claire Stapleton, Case Immel, Clay Immel and Reese Braasch. She was further preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis (James) Heald.
Family services were held and Jeanette was laid to rest at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Antigo, WI.
