Janice Soufal, 86, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026. Janice was born on November 11, 1939 to Harold and Hilda (Boettcher) Luepke in Shawano County. On May 18, 1963 she was united in marriage to Duane “Butch” Soufal at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bonduel. They moved to Appleton in 1975 and she moved to Hortonville after Butch died to be closer to her daughter Conni and family. Janice loved camping, watching sports and playing cards. She loved her family and they were the most important thing to her.
Janice is survived by her children; Jodi (Nathan Pappenfuss) Soufal, Conni Soufal, grandchildren; Cooper and Maddy, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Butch, an infant son, and siblings Bill Luepke and Eugene ”Ducky” (Kathy) Luepke.
The funeral service for Janice will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 601 E. Glendale St., Appleton. A time of visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. She will be laid to rest with her husband Butch at Highland Memorial Park.
