Janet M. (Zastrow) Wolfinger

Janet Mary Ann Wolfinger, nee Zastrow, age 84, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, November 15, 2024.  She has now joined her loved ones that have passed before her.  Janet was born on October 27, 1940 in Marytown, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Elmer and Viola (Dohr) Zastrow.  On October 27, 1978 Janet was united in marriage to Carl Wolfinger, Sr.  They shared 35 wonderful years together before Carl’s passing.  Janet was a member of St. Patrick’s Parish in Stephensville.  She was formerly employed with Thilmany Pulp and Paper.  She enjoyed gardening, flower gardens, and bird watching.

Jan is survived by her children: Patty Griesbach, Greenville; Kathy (Jack) Balke, Neenah; Rick (Julie) Derks, Appleton; her fur baby, Chelsea; 18 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; son-in-law, Erv (Sue) Fischer; and her children’s dad, Bob Derks.  She is further survived by Carl’s children: Marilyn Wolfinger, Rosie Klauber, Betty Ann Van Dyke (sp. friend Del); Shirley Wolfinger; and their families; her sisters and brothers-in-law: Gin (Joe) Weyers; Joan (Steve) Driessen; Bob Stein; and their families, other relatives and friends.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; daughter Cheryl Fischer; daughter-in-law, Barb Derks; son-in-law, Herman Griesbach; a sister, Mary Stein; and step-sons: Robbie Wolfinger and Carl Wolfinger, Jr.

Mass of Christian Burial for Jan will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Parish (N3686 State Road 76, Stephenville).  Visitation will take place on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Greenville’s Valley Funeral Home (N1858 Greenville Dr.).

Janet’s family would like to thank the first responder’s, Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department, and the staff at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center – Appleton.
