James C. Zinkgraf, age 60 of Appleton, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. He was born on June 13, 1963 in Sheboygan to the late Ralph and Vivian (Seider) Zinkgraf. He graduated from Randolph High School and UW Whitewater with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science. He spent his entire career as an IT professional. On May 6, 1989 he married Lynn Niehoff in Randolph. James enjoyed playing golf, and for almost three decades, spent his Thursday nights at Mid Vallee with his golf league. He also enjoyed hunting and until the last few years, playing volleyball. James was a skilled woodworker, making items for his family. James was a generous person, helping others by volunteering through church, with Dylan’s Boy Scout troop or simply snow blowing his neighbors driveways. He loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Margaret.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn, children; Andrea (Andrew) Huebner and Dylan Zinkgraf, granddaughter, Margaret Huebner, sister, Joan (Mark) Handeland and brother, Dale Zinkgraf as well as his mother in law, Virginia Niehoff, brother in law, Gene (Wanda) Niehoff and sisters in law; Sue (Jon) Nelson and Karen Wiederholt. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding James in death are his parents, father in law, Raymond Niehoff and brother in law, Dale Wiederholt.
Family and friends may gather on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1617 W Pine St., Appleton beginning at 9:00am until 10:45am with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00am. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in James’ name can be made to either Habitat for Humanity or local Boy Scouts.
