James Wittman Obituary

James G. Wittman, age 74, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025, with his beloved wife of 38 years, Judy, by his side.

Born in Kimberly, WI, on October 6, 1950, to the late Frank and Delores Wittman, Jim dedicated much of his life to his family and his work. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from March 1970 to November 1971, receiving an honorable discharge.

On May 10, 1986, Jim married Judy George, and together they made their home in Kaukauna, where they spent 18 years while raising their daughter, Samantha.  They later moved to Appleton. Jim also had a son, Shane, from a previous marriage, who now resides in Georgia.

Jim found his true calling in driving semi-trucks and spent 25 years working for Coenen Transit in Kaukauna. His love for woodworking was another great passion, and he became skilled in the art of scroll saw carving, creating beautiful pieces that will be cherished by many. Jim was also an avid motorcyclist, finding joy in riding his trike whenever he could.

In addition to his wife, Judy Wittman, Jim is survived by his son Shane Wittman, daughter Samantha (Scott) Scovronski of Menasha, grandchildren Jacob, Alexa, and Trace Scovronski, as well as his siblings: Wayne Wittman of Appleton, Marge Ware of Appleton, Gene Wittman of Las Vegas, and Chaz Wittman of Florida. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Bernice Anderson of Menasha, father-in-law James (Carol) George of Florida, brother-in-laws Larry (Liz) George of Freedom, Steve Marsceau of Sun Prairie, and Dan (Barbara) George of Kimberly, as well as sister-in-law Deb (John) Ristow of Crivitz and Jackie Kroll of Neenah. Additionally, Jim had numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a special bond with his great-niece, Kendra Kieler.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Delores Wittman, and his sisters LaVonne Kolberg, Cheri Baker, Lynn Eick and sister-in-law Karen Wittman.

Jim’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
