James G. Plesser

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a devoted Christian man whose life was defined by faith, family, and an unwavering love for animals. James Gerard Plesser, of Clintonville, WI, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025 due to health issues. Jim was born on July 4, 1952 to the late Raymond and Bernice Plesser.

Family and faith were the cornerstones of his life. He cherished family relationships especially with his daughter, Erica. He had a great sense of humor, loved the outdoors, golf, and animals. Jim was a skilled dog groomer who raised and professionally showed golden retrievers, winning many awards. Health reasons forced him to step away from grooming, but his heart for animals never faded. His legacy of love, loyalty and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of his family.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Erica (David Thies) Plesser of Seymour, WI; siblings: Joanne (Chuck) Hoffman of Appleton, WI, Mary Kay Plesser of Westminster, CO, Terri (Mark) Suski of Lake Villa, IL, and Chris (Paul) Nelson of Appleton, WI.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Suzanne Rew of Clintonville, WI.

A Funeral Service for Jim will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St., Appleton. Visitation will begin at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. and will continue until the time of the service. For online condolences, please visit www.valleyfh.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial bench in Jim’s honor.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation for the excellent care Jim received while residing at the Renaissance Assisted Living the last four years. May he rest in peace and may his memory live on.
