James F. Plamann

James F. Plamann, age 57, of Appleton, passed away unexpectedly on October 17th, 2024. His last moments were spent doing what he loved, which was taking his beloved dog, Ginger, on one of their daily car rides. Jim was born on April 2, 1967, to the late Frederic and Arlyne Plamann.

Jim graduated from Fox Valley Lutheran in 1985. He went on to get his associate’s degree in Electronics Technology from FVTC then obtained his bachelor’s degree in business administration & economics and marketing from Lakeland College. Jim proudly worked at Miller Electric for 37 years and enjoyed going to work each day.

Jim’s favorite things to do were playing in cribbage tournaments, spending time with his “big baby”, Ginger, and volunteering around church and within the community. He enjoyed spending time “up north” in Minocqua, watching sports, and catching up with friends and previous coworkers. Jim also loved to spend time with his kids, nieces and nephews, and great niece and nephew watching their sports games and teasing them.

Jim was loved dearly and will be greatly missed. Jim is survived by his children Katie and Sam Plamann, former wife Amy Plamann; sisters Julie (Kelly) Burr, Joan Phillips, and Jean (Scott) Callaway, many nieces and nephews, as well as various family members and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Frederic and Arlyne Plamann, and brother-in-law Todd Phillips.

Jim was a life-long member of St. Peter Lutheran Church (N 2740 French Rd., Appleton), where his celebration of life service will be held on Friday, October 25, at 12:30 p.m. A time of visitation will be held at church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  He will be laid to rest in Community Lutheran Cemetery.  For online condolences please visit www.valleyfh.com
