Ida "Terri" Marcks Obituary

Ida “Terri” (Thompson) Marcks, of Menasha, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Terri was born on April 4, 1951, in Tuttle, North Dakota, to the late Theodore and Inez (Hetletved) Thompson. After spending her early years in Tuttle, Terri briefly lived in Texas before settling in the Menasha area, where she met the love of her life, Jerry. Together they built a life centered around family and raising their two children, Stacie and Scott.

Terri was a devoted grandmother who treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren. She especially loved their glamping weekends in the summer, games and matching pajamas at Christmas, and family vacations to California, Arizona, and Florida - trips filled with laughter, storytelling, and unforgettable memories. Whether sharing one of her famous jokes or celebrating a lucky win at the casino, Terri always brought a smile to those around her.

Terri worked for many years as a waitress at Ridgeway Country Club, where she formed lifelong friendships with Linda Nollenberg, Lois Marotz and June Breaker, and was beloved by both staff and members. Her sense of humor and ever-present smile made her a favorite among all who knew her. In retirement, Terri remained active, working at North Shore Country Club and later with Kimberly-Clark, where she helped test paper products. Everywhere she went; she made friends and spread joy.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Marcks; her daughter, Stacie (Paul) Lecker; her son, Scott Marcks; and her cherished grandchildren: Elizabeth Lecker (Kayla Scaletty), Ethan Lecker, Emily Marcks, and Maren Marcks. Terri is also survived by her brother Bennie Thompson; sisters Della (Grady) Jackson, Sharon Fix, and Stella (Mark) Vogel; sisters-in-law Alice Thompson, Carol Thompson and Laura Thompson; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Terri was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Lester, Roger, and Stanley Thompson; her brother-in-law Robert Fix; and dear friend Fay Klima.
