Herman “Jack” John, age 78, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025. He was born on July 14, 1946 to the late Irving and Leona (Bowman) John.
Herman was one of 21 children and cherished the memories and the adventures he experienced with his brothers and sisters. He was a very proud member of the Oneida Nation. He was a kind, caring, and generous man. In his spare time, he enjoyed being in the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing. Herman was a very social person and truly loved being in the presence of others, always ensuring everyone had a good time. Other than his family and friends, Herman’s faith was extremely important to him, and he often found solace in it.
Herman is survived by daughter, Angel Wallace; siblings: Kristen “Porky” John, Robin (Laura) John, Forest Raphael John, Kevin (Rosa) John, Tony Anthony John, Carol Marie Summers, Andrea John, Patrice John; special nephews: Jeffrey S. Polar and John Summers. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and special friends Doogie Wade and Jackie Johnson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers: Irving Phillip Jr., Gregory Scott, Gabriel Lawrence, Timmy, Tom, and Todd; six sisters: Linda, Glenda, Eunice, Kathleen, Michelle, and Arvilla.
Funeral services for Herman will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Apostles Episcopal Church, 2937 Freedom Road, Oneida, WI 54155. Visitation will begin at the church at 9:00 a.m. and will continue until the time of the service. Herman will be laid to rest in Holy Apostles Cemetery.
