Gregory Lee Feistel, 51 of Appleton passed away Friday, June 18, 2021 at Appleton Medical Center with family around him. Greg was born on June 12, 1970 in Appleton to Dennis and Katherine (Valentine) Feistel.
Greg was a financial representative with Thrivent.
He enjoyed time at the cottage, the big sky and a good campfire.
Given the chance a good story was never far away. As seasons changed you could find fishing or hunting equipment gathered in the car.
Baseball occupied much of his time in high school, college and after. He played for Freedom High School, Whitewater, and the Freedom Mets before work and family took up his time. In recent years watching the Bucks with Gavin or going to his games or swim meets filled the calendar.
Greg enjoyed the farmers market with his son and local live music events.
Preparing Lenten fish fry at St Pius X with a good group of people gave him satisfaction and a time to tell his stories.
An exceptional friend to many, a trusted confident, generous in offering help or identifying need has his list of friends spread far and wide.
Greg is survived by his son Gavin “g”: his mother Kathy Feistel; his sister Stacy (Joseph) Gonnering of Appleton, his nephews Jacob and Thomas and Kristina Gurich, Gavin’s mother.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Feistel, his grandparents Wilmer (Mike) and Ann (Blazek) Feistel; Leland and Exilda (Geenen) Valentine.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 24 at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N Richmond Street, Appleton from 4 pm to 7pm and again on Friday, June 25 at St Pius from 9 am until 11 followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00.
