George L. Urban

George L. Urban, age 92, of Kaukauna passed away peacefully on Monday, June 3, 2024.  He was born on June 24, 1932 to the late John and Bertha (Laedke) Urban.  On April 19th, 1958 George married Gloria Urban.

At 18 years old, George joined the Marine Corps and dedicated 8 years to serving his country during the Korean War.  He was proud to have been selected to go on the Old Glory Honor Flight the summer of 2023.

George found joy playing bingo and spreading cheer through his whimsical sense of humor and playful jokes.  In his earlier years, he cherished moments of camping, fishing, gardening, hunting, and relaxing at the cabin by Crooked Lake.

George is lovingly survived by his children: Brenda (Charles) Allen, Brigette Nabbefeld, Brian (Susan) Urban, and Greta (Mark) Voight; grandchildren: Emily (Cory) Niesen, Lindsey (David) Salazar, Charles (Elizabeth) Allen, Andrew (Allie) Allen, Nicholas (Brianna) Voight, and Jena (Tom) Van Cauwenberghe; aw well as 14 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and his dear friend Fran.

In addition to his parents and siblings, George was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Urban and son-in-law Gary Nabbefeld.

As per George’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.  He will be laid to rest next to Gloria at the Friendship Cemetery in Belle Plaine.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Paul Home for caring for George over the past few years and Fran for being such a loving friend.
