Greenville-George J. Hackel age 74, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2022. George was born in Little Chute to the late Joseph and Rosemary (Vanden Heuvel) Hackel. George married Valerie (Timmers) on September 18, 1971. They shared over 50 years together. George was a carpenter with Miron Construction until his retirement in 2002. He was an avid wood worker that made many valued furniture pieces for his family. During George’s retirement he enjoyed reading and relaxing on his porch. Attending his grandchildren’s sporting events was the highlight of George’s week. He always looked forward to the traditional Wisconsin Fish Fry’s on Friday nights with family and friends. George was a quietly generous person with a big heart.

George is survived by his loving wife, Valerie; children: Chris Hackel and Heidi (Mike) Lesselyong: grandchildren: Owen Lesselyong, Evan Lesselyong, Thomas Lesselyong, and Henry Lesselyong; siblings: Trish Lenhart, Lee (Dot) Hackel, Marla (Paul) Garber, Tim (Pat) Hackel, Donna (Judd) Vanden Heuvel, Jeff (Barb) Hackel, Dan (Jackie) Hackel, Dave Hackel; his brother and sister-in-laws: Terry Timmers, Vicky Johnson, Peggy (Joe) Bissing, Mike (Gale) Timmers, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph (Rosemary) Hackel and stepmother Florence Hackel and mother and father-in-law Bob, Sr. (Anne) Timmers and brother-in-law, Bob Timmers, Jr.
