Gary Balthazor, 79, Greenville, passed away peacefully at his home with his soulmate of 57 years by his side on Monday, December 29, 2025. We find comfort in knowing he is reunited with his parents and brothers and many other loved ones.
Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Gary was born January 28, 1946, in Neenah, the son of Lester and Hazel (Wilcox) Balthazor. The youngest of three boys who all had a passion for cars, which Gary passed down to his sons and grandsons also. Gary met Mary Porter in 1966 and shortly after was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served in Vietnam for two years. He returned home and quickly married his soulmate (first try) on September 14, 1968. Gary was employed by Kimberly Clark for over 40 years where he made so many friends, until he finally retired to be a fulltime husband and grandpa.
Gary was a jack of all trades. He purchased the family home in Menasha in 1976 and built Mary’s dream brick by brick. They added 1800 square feet to a 500 square foot house, making it completely crafted by his hands alone (because he was too cheap to hire someone). They were blessed with four mouths to feed, and their home was a safe place where love and food was always waiting for every friend, family or neighbor for 37 years.
Gary and Mary have four children, 11 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and one on the way. Maybe this one will be “Wendy Marie” (if you know you know).
Gary is survived by his beautiful wife, Mary; son, Randy (Tammy); daughter, Tammy (Mic) Ehm; son, Tim (Rachelle); son, Jeremy (Brittany); grandchildren: Adam, Dustin, Allie, Lily, Tony, Dawson, Joey, Abby, Nicky, Brayden, and Aiden; great grandchildren: Laken, Zepplin, Devin, and baby Balthazor on the way.
