Frank (Francis) Cummings Obituary

Frank (Francis) Cummings died on April 27, 2025.

His lifelong passion, to be a comedian, was never achieved except in the hearts that knew him.

For those that really knew him, he loved people unconditionally.

He wandered around the world (visiting all seven continents in a mere 12 months) but his passion for serving the Lord Jesus Christ never wavered wherever he went.

Frank was a psychologist who dedicated his professional life to honesty, compassion, and love for his clients and colleagues. Yet, he did those same things in his personal life too.

As a sports enthusiast, Frank ran 36 half marathons, attended many high school, college, and NFL events. Many of his clients were athletes in various sports including amateur, high school, college, Olympic, and professionals. This was a genuine joy for him.

As a Christ- follower, his initial goal was to invest in 12 young men during his tenure as a volunteer youth director at a Baptist church in St. Cloud, Minnesota. That goal was achieved!

Moreover, he started a local chapter of a national organization (now known as CRU) at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. After earning his Ph.D., Frank moved to Appleton, WI and was the founding psychologist at the Child and Adolescent Program (CAP) at St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Frank was a consulting professional at Rawhide Boys Ranch and Calumet County for 25 years.

Frank also dedicated his life to mission service. He made 36 trips to East Africa, conducting over 80 conferences with the goal of enhancing over 2,000 pastors, church, and village leaders on how to be effective counselors. He recently extended that mission-minded vision to the Amazon jungle in Peru. As anyone can attest, Frank would surely state: "I hate the weather, the food, but I love the people." That is who Frank is.

Frank was very grateful for his friends and family. They know who they are, thus, no names will be mentioned here.

In Frank's last days, he was surrounded by family and friends and a special care team was formed to take care of his needs and lift his spirits. He was grateful for the time and effort that people gave and especially for all the love and laughter they shared with him.

Frank encourages any donations, gifts, love offerings given to a charity of your choice.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Lake Park Pub (Menasha, WI) on Sunday, June 1, 2025 from 2-5pm.
