Frances Scherg Obituary

Fran went to her heavenly home on December 28, 2021. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. We all will miss her smile and sense of humor and the adventures she took her grandkids on.

Fran was born in Calumet, Michigan on November 27, 1927. She worked a milk route as a young girl and later found great satisfaction working in Wisconsin Dells. Being a lover of nature and wildlife, this job was quite fitting for her. On November 27, 1947, Fran married Francis Norbert Scherg at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. In the fall of 1947, they moved to Rogers Park Chicago.  In spring of 1948 they relocated to Appleton, Wisconsin before finally settling down in Neenah, Wisconsin.

Fran believed in making the most of each and every day. She loved playing cribbage and bingo. She had a passion for hunting and fishing, along with a good game of golf. The casinos were a fun pastime, as were knitting and crocheting. She was a wonderful homemaker and cook and enjoyed decorating. Fran was an avid reader who enjoyed wildlife and nature stories, along with mystery and romance novels.

Fran is survived by her daughter; Sandra Frances (Robert) Chandler, Burlington, Kentucky, son; Steven (Carlene) Scherg, Neenah, Wisconsin, daughter; Patricia Ann Klitzke, Appleton, Wisconsin, daughter-in-law; Susan (Roovers) Scherg, Kimberly, Wisconsin, grandchildren; Brendan (Elaine) Chandler, Naperville, Illinois, Gregory Chandler, Bellevue, Kentucky, Tom (Kendra) Scherg, Appleton, Wisconsin, Chris Scherg, Appleton, Wisconsin, Ben (Brigette) Scherg, Waupaca, Wisconsin, Angela Scherg, Neenah, Wisconsin, Curt Schneider, Neenah, Wisconsin, Kevin Schneider, Kimberly, Wisconsin, Matt (Lydia) Scherg, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Jenn Scherg, Kimberly, Wisconsin, Megan (Justin) Susdorf, Appleton, Wisconsin, Jeremy (Anushka) Klitzke, Portland, Oregon, Nick (Katie) Klitzke, Eagan Minnesota and Danelle (Ryan) Klaver, Black Creek, Wisconsin. Fran was also blessed with 27 great grandchildren.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents; Anton “Tony” and Florence Jane (Campell) Kruze, husband; Frances Norbert Scherg, siblings; Betty Lou Kruze, Nancy Mae Sparks, son; David Michael Scherg, Son-in-law; Lyndon “Buster” Klitzke and brother-in-law; Roman (Connie) Sparks.
