Evelyn J. (Kahler) Wegner

Evelyn J. Wegner, age 81 of Appleton, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023 with her loving family by her side. She was born on June 30, 1942 to the late Elmer and Martha (Brockman) Kahler. Evelyn worked for many years as a switchboard operator for the phone company. She loved Elvis. Watching the ETA Elvis John, who visited her and her friends at Oneida Heights and the Thompson Center many times. She loved watching classic movies on TCM channel, along with Elvis movies, other classics that would include dancing and musicals like White Christmas. Her favorite Elvis songs were Blue Christmas and Suspicious Minds. Like her mother, her favorite color was purple, and would often wear at least a little purple. She also enjoyed shopping and going out to eat with family and friends, anything to just spend time with those she loved. Evelyn was a woman of Faith; she loved to hear the word of God. She will be missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her children; Deborah Wegner, Lisa (Jeff) Berger, Kenneth (Fiancé Cheri Springstub) Wegner and Susan (Alden) Rideout, grandchildren; Adam (Kate Gardner) Gerdts, Alison (Danny) Marchillo, Jonathon Kilsdonk and Christopher (Mykayla) Kilsdonk and great grandchildren; Etta, Penelope and Ethan. Evelyn is further survived by her brothers; Roger (Linda) Kahler and Greg (Shari) Kahler, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Family and friends may gather on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Riverview Ev. Lutheran Church, 136 W. Seymour St, Appleton from 9:00am until the time of service at 11:00am.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Oakridge Gardens and from Compassus Hospice for how wonderful you all were with Evelyn these past few weeks.
