Eunice "Maxine" (Fitch) Femal

Eunice “Maxine” Femal, age 90, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, April 28, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. She was born on June 24, 1934 in Menasha, daughter of the late Adry and Edna (Johnson) Fitch. She was united in marriage to Lloyd Femal on July 31, 1954 at St Mary's church in Appleton, WI. Lloyd preceded her in death shortly before their 70 th wedding anniversary.

Maxine was a homemaker and loved everything about it. She took great pride in making sure Lloyd and her children were well provided for. Her famous poppy seed cake, cottage cheese rolls and potato salad will certainly be missed by all. She was a passionate “Hugger”, she hugged anyone and everyone. Maxine had a great love for knitting and crocheting, she spent countless hours making beautiful blankets and clothing for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Maxine was a devoted wife to Lloyd: and loving mother to: Glen (Kim), Douglas (Elizabeth), Michael, and Steven (Lori). She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her grandchildren: Courtney (Chad) Vander Heiden, Caitlin (Paul) Christensen, Samuel Femal, Laura (Steve) Kaster, Melrose Femal, Christopher (Holly) Femal, Lindsey (Christopher) Bishop, Chelsea (Aaron) Wirth, and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Lloyd and her sisters Helen Junion, Mildred Menning, and Marilyn Koerner.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N Richmond Street, Appleton. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of service. Maxine will be laid to rest next to Lloyd at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Appleton.

The family would like to thank the 4th floor nursing staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their tender and compassionate care.
