Elmira Vincent Obituary

Elmira E. Vincent, age 91, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025. Ellie was born on November 16, 1933, to Nicholas and Johanna (Husse) Kieffer in Freedom, Wisconsin. Ellie was very devoted to her family and friends. She was resilient, and had a wonderful sense of humor, took a great deal of pride in her home, and maintained a positive outlook throughout her life. Dancing, singing, yodeling, and crafting were among her many talents. She enjoyed playing cards, socializing with friends and family, watching The Green Bay Packers, gardening, baking, and cooking. She created beautiful craft projects out of leftover materials and delighted in making gifts for her loved ones.  Ellie was active in her church, St. Thomas More.

Ellie is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Bernie) Schuh of Greenville, and grandchildren; Sarah Birkholz, Brandon Schuh, stepchildren; Steve Vincent of Madison, Linda (Alberto Herrera, Jr.) Vincent of West Allis, Susan (Peter) Coenen of Greenfield, and Kathleen (William) Phillipson of Milwaukee, grandchildren; Adam Merkel, Ryley Carnot and Elizabeth Coenen, great-grandchildren; Ava, Eliza, and Bain.

She is also survived by brothers-in-law; Robert (Nancy) Vincent, William (Violet) Vincent, and Father Augustine Cops, sisters-in-law; Irene Vincent Champeau, Elaine (Thomas) Meyer, Joyce Cops, Margaret Young, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

Ellie was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands; Glen Merkel, Raymond Ehardt, and John Vincent, daughter Laurie (Daniel) Carnot, grandson Danny Kiesow, brother Sylvester (Marge) Kieffer, sisters; Evelyn (Robert) Thiele and Rosella (Wally) Van Hoof, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Louie Burgoyne, Thomas Vincent, Jean Vincent, Mary and Willie Fields, Peter Philippi, Dave Champeau, Nelly and Martin Van Nuland, Father Peter Cops, Maria and Peter Havinga, Johanna and Kenneth Schuh, Edmund and Beverly Cops, Dorothy and Joseph Van Nuland, Gerardus and Bernice Cops, Henry Cops, and Paul Young.

A celebration of Ellie’s life will take place at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St. in Appleton on Saturday, August 2, 2025. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM, followed by an 11:00 AM service.

The family appreciates the loving care provided by the Brewster Village staff.
