Elleanor Helen (Huebner) Zimmer

Elleanor H. Zimmer, 100, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2024 at Rennes in Appleton.  She was born March 3, 1924 in Hortonville, Wisconsin.  She was the daughter of Fred and Margaret (Missling) Huebner.  Elleanor was united in marriage to Donald Zimmer on June 8, 1946 in Hortonville.  Donald preceded her in death in 1970.  Elleanor was a very proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  During her life, she enjoyed playing the accordion, playing and watching baseball, dancing, puzzles, gardening, and baking.  She was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church and was involved in the church choir, counting weekly donations, and the Ladies Aide group.

Elleanor is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Dorow and son Ronald (Amelia) Zimmer; grandchildren: Katherine Zimmer (Fiance J.B.), Margaret Zimmer (Fiance Chris) Paul Zimmer (Fiancee Allison) Joshua Zimmer (Fiancee Cassie); great-grandson Maverick Zimmer; siblings: Dorothy McVey, Robert (Arlene) Huebner; sisters-in-law: Carol Huebner and Mary Huebner; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her husband, parents, and in-laws Alfred and Mertie Zimmer, Elleanor was preceded in death by siblings and in-laws: Donald Huebner, two infant sisters, Marcella (Erwin) Grosnick, Alice (William) Kuehnel, Fred Huebner, Harold Huebner, and James McVey.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2024 at Mount Olive Ev. Lutheran Church (930 E. Florida Ave., Appleton), Pastor Joseph Gawel officiating.  Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.  Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Mount Olive Ev. Lutheran Church.
