Edward George Terrell, age 87, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. He was born to the late Edward and Helen (Johnson) Terrell on March 24, 1937 in Neenah, WI.
Edward was a graduate of Menasha High School class of 1956. On September 20, 1958, Edward married his high school sweetheart, Susan M. Buss. He later served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. Edward was employed at James River for many years as an industrial electrician. On August 25, 2007, he married Joan Hillebrandt at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Appleton. Ed loved being outdoors, fishing, and traveling. He also enjoyed spending his time taking trips to the casino and playing cards. He was a member of Neenah-Menasha’s Elks Club and was also an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church where he and Joan would attend weekly Adoration together.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Joan Terrell; children: Linda (Don) Terrell-Brown, Lori (fiancé William Mills) Herberg, Thomas Terrell, and Timothy (Frank) Terrell; grandchildren: Justin, Peter, Melinda (Jeff), Michelle, and Jared (Hannah); great grandchildren: Kayda, Corbin, Beckett, and Jenner; Joan’s children: Theresa, Gary (fiancé Pam), Don (Becky), Michael (Tia), and Todd; and Joan’s grandchildren: Nick, Kerrianne, Jake, Jordan, Mitchell, Taylor, Kasey, Lilly, and Molly.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his first wife, Susan Terrell; sisters: Blanche (Einer) Anderson and Elizabeth (Bruce) Tate; and his step-grandson, James.
A Funeral Mass for Ed will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 500 W. Marquette St., Appleton, with full military honors to follow as well as the Neenah-Menasha Elks Club Memorial Honors prior to the Mass. Visitation will begin at the church at 9:00 a.m. and will continue until the time of the Mass. Entombment will take place in Appleton’s Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Neenah-Menasha Elk’s Lodge #676 in Edward’s honor.
