Edward Millizer Obituary

Edward, age 70, passed away after a lengthy illness on Monday, October 18, 2021 and finally found peace, while sitting in his recliner at home, with his wife Judy and his dog Daisy at his side.

Edward was born June 12 1951 in Kenosha, WI to Loretta and Virlin Millizer. He later moved to Appleton at age 16 and joined the army at age 18, serving 2 years until his honorable discharge, to return home to care for his mother. After returning he met and married Judy Hill on November 21, 1986.

Ed drove 18 wheelers over the road, and local, for various companies and received many safe driving awards. He will be deeply missed, leaving loving, caring, fun and precious treasured memories. He also leaves a lot of material things Judy considered “Junk” in his garage. He collected many antiques, including antique radios. His garage was his favorite place to be besides his recliner. His fabrication garage contained four wheelers, motorcycles, lawn mowers, snow blowers, tools for every imaginable thing, liquid cleaners, polishers, bug spray etc., with their names and uses carefully organized on the shelves. With the radio turned up high, and Judy there for company and help if needed, he would smile and say “I’m glad you’re here.” The hours tinkering and putzing in the garage were his happiest hours. He also loved detail painting. Though he had a gruff exterior, he did many unexpected and kind things for family and friends. He loved fishing in numerous lake and ponds up North in his younger years, Judy at his side, trying to catch that elusive largemouth bass. In recent years, he loved his trailer, up North in Crivitz, fixing and repairing it to make it a joy to come to. He loved sitting by the outside fire.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Judy, his dear sister Verna Wendt, Neenah, nieces Pam(Jamie) Brownson of  Neenah, Paula Popp, Kenosha, Amy Lauko of Little Chute and Jenny and nephew Bill(Emily) Wendt, Green Bay. He is also survived by numerous grand nieces and grand nephews. In addition he is survived by brothers in law James Hill, William Hill, Robert Hill, Michael Hill, Daniel Hill and sister in law Sandra (Tom) Draelos and other relatives and friends.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, nephew in law Jason Popp, Judy’s parents, John and Helen Hill and brother in law Richard Hill. Ed also had numerous pets whom he loved dearly that preceded him in death: PeeWee, the pug, Blackette, the black lab, Dannee, the Golden retriever, parakeets Benny and Joon, and Boomer the cockatiel, who was his “true love”.

Thanks to Theda Care Hospice for their comforting care. Also, special thanks to Verna, Ed’s sister, for her presence and help in the last few days, and to Linda, Judy’s best friend, who stayed by her side every hour, through Ed’s last days, as Judy’s angel and Holy Spirit. No thanks could ever be enough.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Valley Funeral home in Appleton, visitation from 2:00-3:00pm with service starting at 3:00.
