Edward D. Dobkoski

Edward Donne Dobkoski age 78 passed away on Friday September 17, 2021 after a courageous 10 year battle with colon cancer.

He was born to the late Edward and Jane (Simonet) Dobkoski on September 3, 1943 in Green Bay WI. Donne graduated from Premontre Catholic High School in Green Bay, class of 1961. He served in the United States Navy from 1961-1964. He then attended UWGB before starting his career with Wis Bell/Ameritech/SBC. He met Diane Swaer at work and they were married on August 10, 1968. His job transferred his family to Appleton where he liked walking or riding his bike the 3 miles there every day. He retired in 1999.

In Donne’s younger years his favorite hobbies were playing hockey, golfing, and bowling. He liked watching Packer games and enjoyed going to Appleton Foxes games with his family. He also enjoyed his daily walks until recently. His favorite times were spent with family, especially summer vacations at Lake Noquebay for the past 44 years. He truly enjoyed Sunday family get-togethers in his back yard with his wife, 4 children and 5 grandchildren. Donne was a generous man with a big heart and a great sense of humor. He could always be counted on to lend a helping hand.

Donne is survived by his wife Diane of 53 years and four children; Dawn (Brian) Mason, Ron (Anne) Dobkoski, Debi Holladay, Dan (Erin) Dobkoski; grandchildren Dylan, Eva, Karlee, Reese, Brynn, Marissa and Sam. He is further survived by his sisters, Mary Derozier and Theresa Drevs, and his brother Michael (Cathy) Dobkoski; sister-in-law Barb Gerrits; brother-in-law William Swaer; sister-in-law Karen (Jim) Duffy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Donne was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Jane, mother and father-in-law Gordon and Lucille Swaer, brothers-in-law Claire Drevs, Dale Derozier, Robert Swaer, John Gerrits; and sister-in-law Judy Swaer.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday September 23, 2021 at St Pius X Catholic Church, 500 W. Marquette St. Appleton, WI 54911. Visitation will be held from 10:30 am – 12:45pm with mass starting at 1pm.
