Donnal Keith Swift

Donnal Keith Swift, age 73, of Appleton Wisconsin went home to be with his Savior, Jesus, on Saturday, January 30, 2021.  Those that were close to him knew him as Keith. 

Keith was born on December 6, 1947, the son of Wilbur and Betty (Owens) Swift in Waukesha Wisconsin.  He graduated from Waukesha South High School in 1966.  Keith attended UW-Oshkosh and later Fox Valley Technical College where he graduated with honors in Computer science. 

In his spare time, he loved helping others, volunteering at the Mooring, reading, building computers, working at Red’s Pizza in Oshkosh, and spending time with his family and friends. His boss, Stevie, coworkers, and regular customers at Red’s Pizza were like family to him.

 Keith was also a friend of Dr. Bob and Bill W. and had many friends in the program.  He was coming up on his 44th year of sobriety. Keith loved others deeply. He was one of the least judgmental and most forgiving people you would ever meet. He believed in giving others second, third, and sometimes even more chances. He would give you the shirt off his back or a place to stay if you needed it.  He lived a colorful life.

Those that knew Keith best will miss his kindness, sense of humor, and his fun-loving character.  He loved his family with all his heart and will be deeply missed.

Keith is lovingly survived by his daughter: Gayle (Steve) Bakos of Marshfield, sisters Ronna (Ron Wahl) Swift, and Connie Swift; both of Appleton.  He is further survived by his grandchildren: Amber (Jose) Gonzalez of Plover, and Justin Bakos of Marshfield, great grandchild: Lexi Gonzalez, and many other extended family members and friends.

Keith is preceded in death by his parents Wilbur and Betty Swift.

Due to the current pandemic, the family will wait to set a date for a funeral service or celebration of life gathering until things improve.

 The family wishes to thank the staff at Theda Clark in Neenah for the loving care they provided to Keith.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to help with expenses would be appreciated.
