Donna Immel Obituary

Donna M. Immel of Greenville passed away on January 18, 2022; she was born August 24 1942, to the late Herbert and Florence Gabriel.

Donna married the love of her life Robert (R.J.) on June 2, 1962 and together they celebrated 43 years of marriage until R.J.’s passing in 2006. Together they raised four children and in 1973 they started R.J. Immel Excavating. They worked side by side, through thick and thin, with their hard work and pride they turned their business into a company currently being run by second and third generations. After retirement they spent most of their time at the pond R.J. dug and enjoyed many family gatherings there. Donna would be spotted daily with her golf cart heading to the pond as it was such a special place for her to visit.

Donnas’ sisters were her best friends! They loved spending time together; shopping, going out to lunch on Tuesdays and their girls’ get-away weekends, with additional friends.

Donna was a member of St. Mary’s of the Immaculate Conception Church. For the last six months Donna carried her cross with incredible strength and grace. Donna loved her family deeply and was loved so much, by her family, friends and neighbors. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. Throughout her life she trusted God and has relied on him and her faith.

Donna is survived by her  children,  Todd and Patti Immel, Randy and Penny  Immel, Troy and Kristine Immel, Rainie and Derrick Wasmund, grandchildren, Nikki and Jacob Ebben, Missy and Chris Lochner, Danny and Nicole Immel, Timmy and Katie Immel, Breanna and Ryan Croker, Brandon and Brittany Immel, Austin, Blaze, Tage and Sawyer Wasmund, great grand children, Breleigh Ebben, Case and Clay Immel, Emerson Immel, Rhett Croker, Ruth Immel and Cora Lochner, brother and sisters, Gene and Virg Lautenschlager, Margaret and Don Parker, Anna and Gary Krueger,  sister’s in law, Donna Mae Immel, Ruth Immel and Ione Berg  along with many other relatives and friends.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband Robert J. (R.J.) Immel, her parents, grandchildren Travis and Andrew Immel, a brother Charles and Lucy Lautenschlager, Father-in-law and Mother-in law Robert and Delia Immel and brothers-in-law, Duane and Donald Immel.

Thanks to the caring and supportive expressions of love from her family and friends on her journey. A special thank you to Soni and Kaitlin at Compassus Hospice for the compassion and care provided to Donna and the Family.
