Donald J. Huiting, age 91, of Appleton passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Cherry Meadows. He was born on January 28, 1934 at home in Little Chute, son of the late John and Harriet (Gerrits) Huiting. Donald was raised on the family farm. After school, Donald proudly served his country with the U.S. Army. On June 13, 1959 Donald married Mary Horn, and their union was blessed with four sons and 66 years of marriage. Donald was a very hard-working man from early on and was very handy. He drove semi for some time, before finding his niche in the concrete construction trade. He built the family home that they still live in today. He also helped several family and friends with their home projects because of his carpentry skills.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; his sons: Dr. Karl (Annette), Dave (Amy), and Ken; grandchildren: Carson, Brianne, Caitlin, Spencer, and Mitchell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gary; his sisters: Gladys (Donald) McHugh, Doris (Melvin) Jochman; and parents-in-law, Elmer and Marion (Emmers) Horn.
Donald’s family would like to thank Cherry Meadows Hospice for their kind and compassionate care during his last days.
Per Donald's wishes, private family services will be held.
