Donald I. Esqueda, born May 19,1930 in Milwaukee, passed away on May 14, 2026 in Sherwood, WI just days before his 96th birthday. He was preceded in death by his wife, Trinidad (Gonzalez), his son James, his daughter-in-law Cindy (Weber), and his brothers Ricardo and Robert. His greatest pride was his family. His legacy lives on through his children, Robert, Doreen (James) Nelson, and Diane (Nikola) Miladinovic. He was a loving Grandpa/Papa/Big Papa to many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter. He enjoyed being involved in all their lives. We are all very proud to carry forward his values, his humor, and the loving warmth he so generously shared. Donald found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. There are great memories of camping every year at Devil’s Lake, his many years of playing softball, and hunting all year long which continued throughout life. And let’s not forget what a terrific cook he was. When visiting, we could always count on having the most amazing family breakfasts!
Throughout his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his special friend, Gloria. They enjoyed visiting casinos, playing slot machines, and most of all, dancing the night away to all their favorite bands.
Dear Dad/Grandpa/Papa/Big Papa … you will be forever in our hearts and never forgotten. We are all truly blessed to have been left with such wonderful memories to last forever.
