Donald Card Obituary

Donald LeRoy Card, age 92, of Appleton, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026. Born in Plainview, Minnesota, on June 21, 1934, Don was the cherished son of Elven and Viola Mae (lance) Card. He graduated from Waterford High School in 1952 and went on to attend Olivet College where he met the love of his life, Donna Sue (Carter). They married on May 21, 1954, and settled in his hometown of Waterford, Michigan where they started their life together. Don and Donna Sue were married for over 70 years.

Don had a long career selling industrial pumps that supported him and his family and brought them to several states. He worked for: Crane-Deming Pumps (KY), DL Card Engineering (IN), Burks Pumps (IL), and Blackmer Pumps (TX). After retirement Don and Donna Sue enjoyed spending their summers on Bois Blanc Island where they both dedicated themselves to the local community. Don also loved his time spent singing in the choir at the churches he attended.

He is survived by his sons; Gregory (Patricia) and Lance (Kristen) and his daughter Ondrea McAulay (Robert). Don was a proud grandfather to Rachel Collins (Paul), Justin Card (Rey), Nathaniel Card (Mari), Nicole Brockman (Dylan), Brendan McAulay (Olivia), and Shauna McAulay. He was also blessed with several great-grandchildren, including Jackson and Braxton Collins, Cameron Card, Elizabeth, Natalie, and Felix Card.

Don was preceded in death by his devoted wife Donna Sue (Carter), and his son Cameron Card. His dedication to his family will always be remembered.

A memorial service to celebrate Don and Donna Sue’s lives will be held in the future on Bois Blanc Island. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local food pantry or towards a community project on Bois Blanc.
