Donald J. Burroughs, age 82, passed away on November 3, 2025 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton. He was born on January 20, 1943 in Sparta, WI to the late Kenneth and Mildred (Oakes) Burroughs. He was united in marriage to Beverly Prue on November 3, 1962 – with Donald passing on their 63 wedding anniversary.
After graduating from Menasha High School in 1961, he went on to build a long and steady career with Wisconsin Tissue, where he worked for 33 years before retiring in 1995. As the proud captain of his own charter fishing service on Lake Michigan, Donald shared his passion for the water with countless friends and fellow anglers over the years. Whether reeling in a catch or swapping stories at the dock, he was always in his element on the open water. When the weather turned cold, he traded his boat for the woods where he found peace and purpose during the hunting season. Donald will be remembered for his easy laugh, hardworking spirit, and great love for his family.
Donald is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly Burroughs; son, William (Patty) Burroughs; three grandchildren: Brian (Casey) Burroughs, Derek Burroughs, Brooke (Fiancé, Skyler Eggers) Burroughs; three great grandchildren: Austin, Kyla, and Maeva Burroughs; sister, Patricia Harding; and sister-in-law, Betty Burroughs. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Mildred Burroughs; brothers: Howard and Robert Burroughs; sisters: Kay Burroughs, Valderine (Robert) Towns, Rita (Ken) Harris; and brother-in-law, Allen Harding.
