Donald Charles Boettcher

Donald Charles Boettcher, 89, of Appleton WI, passed away surrounded by his loving family on June 4, 2022 at Renaissance Assisted Living.

Donald was born March 28, 1933 in Appleton, WI to the late Edwin and Alta Boettcher. 

Donald enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.  He had a Polka band called Hummers for 20 years.  He would bake bread and buns and cook soup for his neighbors.  Donald was known as the “Soup King”.

Donald is survived by the mother of his 5 children, Gail A. Driessen, children; Lori (Jeff) Rakestaw, Daniel Boettcher, Robert (Val) Boettcher, Steve (Pam) Boettcher and Paula (Ed) Herman, 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and his sister Virgina Boettcher.

Preceding him in death is his loving wife Gail J. Boettcher, parents, brother Alton Boettcher and his great-granddaughter Hannah Nackers.

Funeral Services for both Donald and Gail Boettcher will be held on June 17, 2022 at 2:00pm at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton with burial to follow.  Family can friends can come to visit with the family from 1:00pm till 2:00pm.

Donald’s family would like to thank the staff at Renaissance Assisted Living and ThedaCare at Home Hospice for their care and kindness during this difficult time.
