Donald Alberts, age 78, was called home to the Lord on April 22, 2026. Born on December 28, 1947, he was a lifelong resident of Appleton, where he built a life centered on family, community, and the simple joys that brought him happiness.
Donald met the love of his life, Peggy Kunstman, while they were in high school. Their bond grew into a lifelong partnership, and they were united in marriage on January 20, 1968, at St. Joseph’s Chapel. Together, they shared decades of love, laughter, and unwavering support.
Donald dedicated over 30 years of his life in the electrical distribution industry for CED-Lappin Electric where he created countless connections and relations through his admirable work ethic. He was a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers, rarely missing a game and always ready to cheer on his teams. Donald found great satisfaction in working with his hands, especially through woodworking, where he hand-crafted and painted all of his many woodworking projects that exemplified his deep appreciation for craftsmanship. He also enjoyed tending to flowers and spending time admiring classic cars at local car shows. A big history buff, Donald could often be found reading or discussing the past, and he had a particular fondness for watching old Western films. Above all, Donald treasured time with his family. He took immense pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent together. One of his favorite traditions was gathering for Friday night dinners with his son, Jim, a time filled with conversation, laughter, and connection.
Donald will be remembered for his steady presence, his love for family, and the many ways he brought warmth and joy to those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Donald is survived by his children: Joseph (Kelly) Alberts, Tammy (John Bettinger) Alberts, James (Jennifer) Alberts, and Tracy (Shane) Keller; grandchildren: Julia Alberts, Alyssa Alberts, Eric Alberts, Morgen (Trevyr Kerscher) Hoepner, Joshua Alberts, Justin Alberts, Jaysen Alberts, and Latasha (Mark) Berken; great grandchildren: Carter, Mason, and Wesson; as well as his cat, Bentley who he adored.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Harold and Irene (LeCaptain) Alberts; his loving wife, Peggy Alberts; and his brothers: Stanley Alberts and Richard Alberts.
