Dolores Schomisch Obituary

Dolly Schomisch passed away peacefully in her sleep at The Bridges of Appleton on Friday, March 2, 2018.  She was born in Appleton on July 28, 1928 to the late Lester and Alyce Hartzell.

Dolly was a counselor at Camp Onaway as a teen.  She attended UW Oshkosh and Fox Valley Technical Institute.  She worked at WAPL, WYNE and WRJQ radio stations as a bookkeeper/office manager, and she even had some minor on air duties.   She was last employed as a receptionist at the Thompson Community Center.

Dolly was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ.  She was a past president of the Valley Business and Professional Women, and enjoyed the companionship of its members.

Dolly loved animals and she was a dedicated gardener growing beautiful flowers and vegetables.  She liked to pamper her family by cooking and baking yummy family favorites, and experimenting with new, unusual recipes.   She was a loving, supportive and fun mother to her daughters and her cats.

Dolly is survived by two daughters, Lisa (Joseph) Kabke of Milwaukee and Betsy Schomisch of Madison.

Per Dolly's wishes there will be no visitation or formal funeral service.  Cremation will take place with the assistance of Valley Funeral Home.

Dolly’s family extends a special thank you to everyone at Arcadia Home Care, Community Care, The Bridges of Appleton and Compassus Hospice who took such good care of her.
