Diane Lynn (Wildenberg) Lorenz

Diane “Di” (Wildenberg) Lorenz passed away on December 1, 2024 surrounded by her family.  Diane was born to Ralph and Kathryn Wildenberg on May 7, 1949.  Diane married Robert Lorenz on October 19, 1979, recently celebrating 45 years of marriage.

Diane worked as a Nursing Assistant for 17 years at Colony Oaks Nursing Home in Kimberly and as a packaging processor at Kaukauna Club Cheese.  For many years, Diane was a member of the Fox Valley Corvette Club.  She enjoyed playing darts, bingo, traveling and socializing with her many friends at Aspire Assisted Living where she resided for the past 1.5 years.  Diane was an avid Packer fan and could be heard cheering them on during all the games.  She was also a lover of all things tulips and decorated her room with colorful reminders of her many trips to Holland, Michigan.

Diane is survived by her husband, Robert; her brothers: Michael (Maribeth) Wildenberg, Sturgeon Bay, WI; David (Gigi) Wildenberg, Issaquah, WAS; her sisters: Mary Kay (Gib) Hietpas, Fond du Lac, WI; Karen (J.) Johnson, New Braunfels, TX.  She is also survived by in-laws: Mary Ann Strobl, Appleton, WI; Suzanne (Michael) Cook, Green Valley, AZ; Christine Stoegbauer, Appleton, WI; William Stoegbauer, Appleton, WI.  In addition, Diane is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Mass for Diane will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church (500 W. Marquette St., Appleton).  Friends and family will gather at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of service.  Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Stephen Taylor and the nursing support staff of the ICU at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center – Appleton for their care and consideration during Diane’s last days.
