Diana Bahr Obituary

Diana M. Bahr, age 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. She was born on July 26, 1939, in Shawano, to the late Peter and Verna (Olson) Hansen. She was baptized on August 13, 1939 and was confirmed on June 6, 1954. On July 13, 1957, Diana was united in marriage to Roger Bahr. They were blessed with five children.

Diana was a graduate of Gillett High School, Class of 1957. She grew up on her family farm, which can be attributed to her strong work ethic she carried with her into her long working career. Over the years, Diana was employed at Spurgeons as a sales associate, T&C Grocery in the bakery department, as well as at several nursing homes throughout Shawano as an aid before finishing her career as a bank teller with Fox Communities Credit Union. Diana was also one of the original members of Cecil’s Lioness Club where she famously held the position as the lead fryer on the grill at their events for many years. An avid crafter, Diana had a passion for crocheting, knitting, and needlepoint and loved creating beautiful pieces for her family members. She also had a passion for travel and she and Roger went on many exciting adventures over the years, but especially enjoyed their trips to Alaska, Canada, and Branson. Above all else, Diana’s family was most important to her. She cherished the many memories made with her family and grandchildren whether it was baking Christmas cookies, keeping up with her grandchildren’s sports and activities, or the annual Christmas shopping trip; a 45 year family tradition that Diana’s family is proud to continue in her honor. Diana will be remembered for her loving and kind nature, strong faith, and witty humor and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Diana is survived by her children: Ricky (Christine “Tina”) Bahr of Appleton, Markius (Christine) Bahr of Bonduel, Connie (Jim) Staszak of Appleton, and Wanda (Bob) Neumann of Green Bay; her grandchildren: Markius Jr., Bradley, Tricia, Jennifer, Shane, Stacy, Jeremy, Eliza, Kiefer, and Chelsea; 12 great grandchildren and one on the way; as well as her sister-in-law, Verna Brusewitz. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Esther; her loving husband of 62 years, Roger; one daughter; sisters: Janice, Doris, and Arvella; brother, LaRue; brothers-in-law: Dennis and David; her granddaughter, Kristin; as well as 3 nephews.
