Dennis Giles Obituary

Dennis Victor Giles, 74, of Appleton, WI, passed away February 8, 2021 at home with his family by his side from the results of esophageal cancer. He was born September 19, 1946 in Milwaukee, WI to Albert and Martha (Johnson) Giles.  He graduated from Appleton West High School. Dennis married Darlene Hackstock on November 13, 1971; they would have been married 50 years this year. Dennis served in the Army, 3 years active duty and 23 years army reserves. He worked at Wisconsin Wireless for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Post for 18 years, most recently American Legion Post 60. Dennis enjoyed golfing, wood carving, football and he always had a good sense of humor.

Dennis is survived by his wife Darlene; children, Steve (Karen) Giles, Pamela (Craig) Knaack; grandchildren, Cody Giles, Chelsea (Juan) Vera, Amber (Peter) Sommi, Tyler Knaack; great grandchildren, Lena and Corbin Sommi. He is further survived by his cousins, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, brother Ed (Sherry) Giles.

Due to the current pandemic there will be a private service followed by a celebration of life later in 2021.

We loved you dearly and you will never be forgotten.

He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
