Dennis Ralph Coe

Dennis Ralph Coe, age 77, of Appleton passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at home with his wife and family by his side.

Dennis was born in New London on September 8, 1945, to Ralph and Mavis Coe of Shiocton. Started his education at the Liberty Bell School, a one room school house, and graduated from Shicoton High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam where he came in contact with Agent Orange. When he returned to the states, he started his career in law enforcement until his retirement in 2003 from the Outagamie Sheriff’s Department.

Dennis married Cathy (Wittwer) Larsen in Wyoming on June 18, 2007. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching his boys play baseball, and traveling/camping to different states with Cathy.

Dennis is survived by his wife, his children Jack (Amy) Coe, Jennifer Coe (Jim Miller), Scott (Cari) Larsen, Lisa Larsen, and Doug (Marcy), Rob (Amber), and Jeff Coe, and grandchildren Megan and Nathan Schmidt, Shayne and Finley Larsen, Kinsley, Tytus, and Toretto Coe. He is also survived by his siblings Bonnie (Gerald) Blink, Mamie Buelow, Jim (Janet) Coe, Edie Berto, and Kenny (June) Coe, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cathy’s parents, his brother Randy, brothers-in-law Don Buelow, Tom Berto, and Curtis Wittwer, and his son-in-law Bryan Schmidt.

A visitation for Dennis will be held at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond Street, on Friday, November 4, 2022, from 4pm to 7pm. The following day, Saturday, a service with military honors will take place at 11am, with visitation beginning at 9am.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Beth and Joan of Hospice, the ThedaCare Cancer Center team and the many family and friends for their support. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established for Dennis’s favorite cause, St Jude Children Research Hospital.
