Deanna "Diane" Guckenberg Obituary

Deanna (Diane) S. Guckenberg, age 84, of Little Chute passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Country Villa Assisted Living.  She was born on July 11, 1940 in Marinette, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Glenn and Edna (Lentz) Maloney.  Diane was married for 63 yrs and 10 months to Jerry Guckenberg who preceded her in death.  Together they opened Richmond Street Pub in Appleton in 1984 and ran the bar until 2001.  She was a receiving/shipping clerk at AAL/Thrivent for 28 years, retiring in 2002.  Diane and Jerry enjoyed going up north to lake Hilbert, and dining at Dick and Joan’s and at The Waters.  Diane also enjoyed playing bingo, gambling, going on casinos trips, going to listen and watching Elvis impersonators, and socializing.

She will be sadly missed by her children: Barbara (Jay) Freier, Dale (Linda) Guckenberg, Sandy (Tony) Omachinski; grandchildren: Jacob Nass, Stacey (Mike) Dodds, Mylie Guckenberg, Christopher Ulman, Katie Omachinski; great-grandchildren: Kara, Arlene, Hunter, Sean, Connor, Hannah, Sophie, Brooklyn; siblings: Nancy Wenzel, David (Linda) Maloney, Roger (Deb) Maloney, Ed Maloney, Pat (Joyce) Maloney;  sister-in-law: Rose Maloney; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister: Nora Bangart; brothers: Glenn Jr. and Robert Maloney; brothers-in-law: James Wenzel and Christopher Bangart; niece: Sarah Thomas; nephew: Christopher Bangart Jr.

Funeral Service for Deanna will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. at Valley Funeral Home (2211 N. Richmond Street, Appleton).  Friends and family will be received at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.  She will be entombed beside Jerry in the Star of Hope Mausoleum at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Family may attend the entombment.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Deanna’s name.
