Chong Xiong Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Chong Moua Xiong our cherished father, brother, grandfather, and uncle; whose love, strength, and deep devotion to family shaped the foundation of who we are today. He passed away at the age of 85 in Appleton where he lived for 49 years on November 17th, 2025, surrounded by the family he dedicated his life to love.

Chong Moua Xiong was born in Laos on February 8th, 1940 to father Nhia Neng Xiong and mother Xia Moua. He was a man of immense courage and unwavering determination. During the “Secret War” in Laos, Chong Moua served as a military combat from 1961-1975. He was recruited by the CIA and U.S. Special Forces to join the U.S. Secret Army Special Guerrilla Unit. In November of 1975 Chong Moua and his wife along with five children journeyed as refugees to the United States to build a new life; one that would become the legacy of our family. Through every challenge and triumph, he remained a steady pillar of wisdom, compassion, and quiet strength. His heart was as large as his dreams for his children and grandchildren, and his presence filled every room with hope.

He is preceded by his first wife Mae Moua Xiong and his daughter Youa Thao. From his first wife he is survived by two sons: Chue Vang Xiong, Houa Xiong, and two daughters: Amber Xiong and Nicole Sengkahmmee. Chong remarried Xia Lor in 2008. From his second wife he is survived by one son: Ginseng and three daughters: Whitney Xiong, Cindy Xiong, and Nancy Xiong. He is also remembered by his 31 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren.

Though our loss is immeasurable, we take comfort in knowing he is reunited with the loved ones who went before him. His spirit, his lessons, and the love he gave so freely will continue to guide us for generations. We will miss him terribly, but we honor the incredible life he has lived and the legacy he leaves behind.

Funeral services will be held 24 hours starting Saturday, 12/20/25 8AM through 12/22/25. Burial service will be at noon on Monday, 12/22/25. All who loved him are welcome to join us in remembering and celebrating his life.
