With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Dr. Chandrakant Shah on March 26, 2026, at the age of 98.
We celebrate his long and meaningful life, defined by discipline, dedication, and a deep commitment to education. He earned bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and completed his PhD in Germany.
Dr. Shah devoted his life to teaching and mentoring students at BVM Engineering College in Vallabh Vidyanagar, India. He also served as a consultant to various industries, applying his expertise to solve complex engineering challenges.
A devoted family man, he strongly believed in the value of education and guided both his family and students with wisdom and care. Though not religious in a conventional sense, he had a deep understanding of the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads, and other scholarly texts.
He authored five engineering textbooks widely used across India, extending his impact far beyond the classroom.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sudhaben Shah; his children, Shreekant, Shriraj, Shrihas and their families wirh grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He will be remembered as a remarkable teacher, a devoted family man, and a person of humility, strength, and quiet generosity. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
May his soul rest in peace.
